What motivates our volunteer to do what they do?
I am passionate about helping children in newcomer households navigate the hurdles of adjusting to a new environment or country. Whether it is through knowledge share with their parents or other forms of assistance, the goal is to help to get the family quickly assimilated so that they can provide for themselves.
I find volunteering with DCS rewarding.
The sense of care, kindness, and collaboration that defines this organisation inspires my enthusiasm to continue working with DCS.

I first volunteered with the project in late 2023, driving a rented cargo van to deliver furniture donations to a house of newly settled immigrants. The interaction with the recipients, witnessing their immense gratitude and joy made me realize that volunteering was not just the right thing to do, but a most rewarding experience and a great amazing privilege to be able to do it.
