Durham Community Support Group is a volunteer-led organization dedicated to welcoming newcomers and refugee claimants into our community with compassion, respect, and practical support. We help individuals and families transition into safe, comfortable housing and connect them with essential resources, education, and employment guidance.

Our purpose is to bring hope, dignity, and a sense of belonging to newcomers and refugee claimants who arrived in Canada seeking stability and a new beginning. We are dedicated to creating a community where every newcomer is embraced, supported and empowered to build a stable, fulfilling and hopeful life. At the heart of our mission is fostering a culture of inclusion, compassion, and mutual growth.

We exist to provide newcomers with support as they move from the shelter system into housing by collection and distribution of donated clothing, furniture and house items. Through one-on-one guidance, we help newcomers navigate life in our community, understanding the school system, accessing healthcare, pursuing employment, and building a stable future.
